Welcome to the “It’s Another Day with Jim and Bill WEEKEND UPDATE”- Episode 959- The Supreme Court came out with a major decision yesterday that puts the lower courts in their place. They can no longer issue national rulings that interfere with the Executive Branch of government. But if you remember, they made a decision earlier this week that set aside a ruling from a Boston judge and the ink wasn’t even dry before that Boston judge said that he would ignore the decision by the highest court in the land. Local politicians are justifying it by claiming that New York is a sanctuary city and they don’t have to abide by Federal law. The Constitution is irrelevant as far as they’re concerned. But isn’t that against the law? Can individual cities make their own laws…laws that circumvent the fundamental US constitutional laws? If this is allowed to stand, won’t this lead to legal chaos? But now we’re in the middle of a ceasefire….shaky as it may be. And this ceasefire may lead to a permanent peace in Iran…possibly under a new, more democratic government. The media, for the most part, seems to have missed that most important word…WITHIN. He didn’t say that he would wait another two weeks to make a decision. Essentially, he said that it could happen any time within the next 2 weeks. Not terribly reassuring if you’re sitting in Tehran. We talk about this and much more on today’s program.
