If they had been successful, this would have been the first time a President was restricted this way. To nobody’s surprise, Republican Rand Paul crossed the aisle and voted with the Democrats. The man’s disdain for Trump is completely uncontrollable. If Trump discovered the cure for cancer and need the Senate to approve it, Paul would vote against it.
